The theme for the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed is ‘Addicted to Winning – The Unbeatable Champions of Motor Sport’. This 2014 theme will celebrate the legendary drivers and riders, teams and manufacturers, who have swept all before them in their sport. It opens with the Moving Motor Show on Thursday 26 June 2014, to give new car buyers and motoring enthusiasts the opportunity to see the very latest models up close, and in many cases drive them on a dedicated vehicle evaluation route within the grounds of the Goodwood Estate, including the revered Festival hillclimb.

Goodwood has announced  that 2007 Formula 1 World Champion and current Scuderia Ferrari grand prix driver Kimi Raikkonen will attend this year’s Festival of Speed. Kimi will be attending at the invitation of new event partner Shell, who will also be celebrating the 50th anniversary of legendary British racer John Surtees’ Formula One World Championship victory with Scuderia Ferrari. Shell partnered Surtees and Scuderia Ferrari to championship glory in 1964 and was Technical Partner of the Formula One team in 2007 during Räikkönen’s victorious campaign.

Finally, one of the iconic components of the FOS is the Goodwood Hillclimb, this is perfect to watch Sebastien Loeb’s attempt at breaking the 15-year-old record of 41.6 seconds   As we at Petworth are so close to Goodwood, many visitors will be travelling past the front door of Petworth antiques shop as it is one the side of the main drag through Petworth. Do take the time to stop and visit us as we would love to see you.
